LOCATION: Virginia
CLIENT:  Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation

Ed Hamm developed a series of urban design plans for six Virginia Amtrack locations to assist in the evaluation and expansion of regular Amtrak commuter service from Alexandria to Newport News. The sites vary in size and character from historic railroad towns and existing downtowns to new cities on greenfield sites. Hamm’s role included coordination with each local community, with planners and economists. He was in charge of urban design and graphics production to present the plans to the fellow consultants, clients and communities. The plans were completed while Ed was an Associate Principal at Rhodeside & Harwell. He worked with Vantage Point Development Advisors, LLC.
